College of Sciences

Chemistry Department

Division of Biological Systems

The study of biological systems in our Department spans analytical, synthetic organic, physical organic, bioinorganic, traditional biochemistry, molecular biology, and several other fields of chemistry. Research in this area is highly interdisciplinary, using state-of-the-art techniques and instrumentation to unravel the intricacies of protein interactions, molecular recognition, neurochemical pathways, supramolecular biological assemblies, etc. Faculty within this division include:

Jim Brozik

Jim Bruce

Herb Hill

Jim Hurst

Jeff Jones

ChulHee Kang

Alex Li

Jim Satterlee

Jim Schenk

Ralph Yount

Student Perspectives

“The prerequisites to achieve academic success at WSU are W (will), S (sincerity), and U (you). With easy to approach faculty and staff and diverse research platforms and funding resources, the rest follows smoothly.”
