Teaching Assistantships

Teaching assistantships are available to upper level undergraduates for Chem 345 and Chem 100 classes. Pay ranges from 1,002.00 per session per semester to $2,005.00 per section per semester. More information can be found here.

 

Undergraduate Research Stipends

Summer research fellowships are available through the College of Sciences and many professional programs. We encourage you to ask your advisor for more information about these programs. A partial list follows:

Departmental Scholarships

The Chemistry department awards ~ $15,000 in scholarships to our majors every year, in the form of the following awards:

Beverly Casebier Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships shall be awarded to continuing students who are completing their sophomore or junior years at WSU. The recipient should be a declared major in chemistry and should have demonstrated an outstanding academic record (minimum GPA = 3.0) and commitment to a career in science. Awardee must be a US citizen. The award should only be made if there is a qualified and meritorious candidate.

Harvey K. Murer Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established to provide scholarships for undergraduate students in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry and chemical physics.

Art & Helen Brunstad Scholarship

Awarded to outstanding science majors with financial need

Julian Culbertson Scholarship

Funds provide for student scholarships and fellowships, student and faculty research and enrichment of the curriculum and program in Chemistry.

McFadden/Yount Undergraduate Scholarship in Biochemistry and Chemistry

Alternate years w/ SMB and we awarded 05/06

Edwin Hart Chemistry Scholarship

Support for undergraduate education on the basis of academic achievement

Ellen & William Shelton Endowed Scholarship

Junior and senior students who have an accumulated gpa of 3.00 and in need of financial assistance.
